Shout out to all the supporters, fans, and photographers that made my Black Rock Shooter cosplay feel successful! Thanks especially to my boyfriend Geraud for being such a sweetheart, driving me everywhere to get my supplies/to the convention with me as well as hefting my cannon around during the convention because my arms were sore from posing with it!
I really appreciate all his moral support too, as I thought I might've become too old to cosplay (23 -- is that too old? Gettin' there gettin' there ; ~ ; ) and was feeling a bit self-conscious for getting serious about it this late in life. Also thanks to everyone who saw me there and were brave enough to ask for pictures! I worked excruciatingly hard on my cosplay and really wanted to shamelessly show it off. Believe me, I know how hard it is to overcome shyness when asking someone for a photo; that's why I think it's only right for cosplayers to be kind to their fans and photographers when they ask for pictures (respectfully & politely).
Although I felt like I've outgrown a lot of the content, I was glad I was still able to participate in some 18+ events like the Cosplay Burlesque. These conventions should seriously consider hosting dance parties for 21+ and serve drinks! They'd make so much money!!!
